Flautist, Performer, Musician - Music
This course will begin by teaching the foundational knowledge of Indian Classical ragas, then move on to include the Karnatic raga system as well as the Karnatic tala system. Next, instructor Amith Nadig will go on to include proper blowing techniques and embellishments that will help each student put their own personal impression on each piece they play. The instructor has created a dynamic lesson plan that includes regimented daily practices, as well as assessments to ensure each student is progressing in a timely manner.
About Mr. Amith Nadig: Amith Nadig was born into a family of musicians. Son and student of flautist Vidwan B. K. Anantharam, Nadig continued to train under Padma Bhushana Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Dr. R. K. Srikantan to learn the more technical aspects of the Gayaki style. Nadig has had nearly two decades of flute practice and study and is still furthering his education under Dr. R. N. Thyagarajan. Today, Nadig performs in a variety of festivals and concerts all over India and abroad. Nadig is known for adapting his musical performances to perform in many genres including Karnatic, Hindustani, Jazz, Fusion, etc. that has led to his popularity in India.
