After learning the basic bols and some compositions in the Beginners Level – 1, they will be taught some more compositions like Kaida and Rela in Teen Taal, 16 beats. During this course, they will also learn the ek-gun (single ), and Dwi-gun (double) of Teen Taal and also learn how to play the compositions in those tempo and how to recite those too. They will also learn some basic fixed compositions, like Tukra & Gat. These are important compositions that are played at the end part of Tabla solo and also could be played during accompaniment. For playing Tabla solo, it’s very important to learn different Kaida & Rela with different syllables of Tabla. This is a foundation course that will also help them to get ideas during accompaniments in the advanced stage.

After completing Level -1, students can join this level. Students will learn about Teen Taal theka and how to play Teen Taal. They will learn some compositions in Teen Taal -16 bests – Kaida and Rela. Students will also learn about ekgun (single tempo ) and Dwigun (double tempo). Further, students will learn how to play the compositions in those tempos and how to recite those too, some basic fixed compositions, like Tukra, Gat, etc, and recitation of the fixed compositions with Teen Taal clapping system.
About the teacher: Apurba is a bright and talented Tabla player in the world of Indian classical music. As a disciple of Pandit Shankar Ghosh, he has performed widely in India and abroad, accompanying well-known musicians of the country(such as Ustad Saiuddin Dagar, Pt. Vinayak Torvi, Smt Purnima Sen, Smt Sanjukta Ghosh, Prof. Mohan Singh, Sri Kushal Das, Sri Kaivalya Kumar Gurav, Sri Partho Sarothi, Sri Partha Bose, Sri Sanjoy Banerjee, and others) as well as composing and performing experimental music projects with musicians overseas.
