About the Teacher
Sumanth Manjunath bears the legacy of being the son of the acclaimed Violin Maestro Dr. Mysore Manjunath.
Sumanth has been a child prodigy who has enthralled music lovers and critics from the tender age of 9. He has received his training under the tutelage of his grandfather - the veteran violin vidwan Sri Mahadevappa, and later under his uncle - the renowned Violin Maestro Mysore Nagaraj and his father Dr. Manjunath.
This third generation young violinist surprised all with his technical abilities and Bhava style of presentation. Essentially the highly evolved musical environment at home nurtured his inherent talent.
Having already given a number of Violin Concerts, he is considered one of the highly talented young Violinists with great future. Sumanth has been sent to Iran by the Government of India with his father Dr.Manjunath for a special Violin concert in connection with Indian Republic Day celebrations in Iran.
He has been invited to perform at many reputed venues in major festivals and music conference across the country. Sumanth also enthralled audiences in Dubai, Abu dhabhi, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, too.
Music critics and veteran musicians have already noticed a bright spark in his violin playing. Many News papers have praised his brilliant Playing style and immense musical anticipations. Sumanth’s performances has been accompanied by many famous Percussion stalwarts including Shirmushanm Rajarao, Tiruvarur Bhaktavatsalam, Banglore V.Pravin, Arjun Kumar, Tumkur B Ravishankar, Patri Satish Kumar, Jayachandra Rao, Giridhar Udupa, Kanjira Amrith, Guruprasanna etc. Combining the strengths of various aspects of violin playing, he has enthralled audiences wherever he performed.
Inborn creativity, individuality and sheer dedication are some of the attributes that make this young violinist special. Widely regarded by fellow musicians and connoisseurs as one of the most promising young violinists in the Music scene today, Sumanth is practicing the great art of carnatic music with utmost respect and humbleness.
