Q: How much time should a student enrolling for this course practice everyday?

Students should practice for a minimum of 30 minutes every day. If they can devote more time to practice, they will learn better and faster.

Q: What if a student is unable to attend an upcoming class?

The student is required to inform the teacher about his absence from a particular session, two days prior to the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. In case the student misses to give two days prior notice about his absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is completely based on the teacher’s discretion.

Q: What if the teacher wishes to reschedule a class?

In case the teacher is unavailable for the scheduled class, he/she will inform the students two days prior to the class. The teacher will conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student.

Q: How long will the teacher take to revert to a query raised after class hours?

The teacher will try to revert back to queries raised after class hours within a 24 hour period.

About the Course

This beginner, online Telugu course by your instructor of the course, Dr. Deepa Gupta is specially designed for those enrolled students or beginners who have little to no exposure to Telugu. The medium of instruction will be Hindi/English/Telugu. There will be a one-on-one session every week for the duration of one hour. The duration of the course will be 15 weeks. Depending on the requirement, additional material/resources will be provided to help you with learning. The topics that will be covered in this beginner course include a thorough introduction to the basics of Telugu grammar, including word banks and conversational style phrase structure. This beginner course is designed to ensure students leave prepared to carry on spontaneous conversations clearly and effectively on simple and complex topics.

About the teacher: Your instructor for the course, Dr. Deepa Gupta started writing stories and poems in Telugu and Hindi from a very young age and many of her articles and works have been published in various magazines and have been appreciated over time. Her love for the language Telugu helped her to become an expert in the language in her formative years. After successfully completing her M.A., she went on to do LLB and secured a gold medal in it. She further decided to do B.Ed. to pursue her interest in teaching. She finally completed her Ph.D. and earned a doctorate in the language Hindi from Andhra University in the year 2014. She has 11 years of teaching experience as a Hindi lecturer in MVR Degree College, Visakhapatnam, and has helped many students over the course to build a strong foundation and interest in the subject. She also has considerable experience in teaching and helping Hindi speakers to learn Telugu and Telugu speakers learn Hindi. She has been felicitated with various awards over time which include Bharat Bharatiya Samman (Jabalpur, M.P), Yuwa Sahityakar Shatabdi Samman (Patna, Bihar), and Visaka Ratna ( Visakhapatnam).
