About the Teacher: The highly trained sitarist, Shouvik Mukherjee received tutelage from renowned Classical Instrumentalist (Sitar) Bimal Chatterjee and later on from the Sitar virtuoso Pandit Kushal Das. He also mastered the Imadaad Khani style of Sitar from Abhik Mukherjee. He has been honoured as an All India Radio artist in 2012. He has also been awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Culture, India.
Shouvik has performed in many Classical Festivals like Raj Bhawan (Governer’s Place) in Kolkata, Belur Math Ramkrishna Mission, Behala Classical Festival, Golpark Ramkrishna Mission, and many more in India. Besides, he has performed at many prestigious concerts in Europe and Germany.
Recently, Shouvik collaborated with the German Rock Band “Back To The Roots” for their Led Zeppelin-famed cover music video “Kashmir”, 2017 in Wuppertal. He has performed in Meru Seelisberg, Switzerland, at Haldia Music Conference 2019, and at the Saltlake Classical Music Festival. Shouvik has performed with Latin Grammy award winner Ivan Santos and also with Padamsri Sonu Nigam in the U.K.
