This stringed instrument is a highly modified slide guitar, made of teak wood. It has 21 strings- 4 melody, 3 drone, 2 chikaris, and 12 sympathetic strings. Siddhartha plays it the lap-style.
The sound of the Siddha Veena is very close to the sounds of Vichitra Veena, Sitar, and Sarod with its own special character.
Once immersed in the magical sounds of this instrument, you will feel that you have traversed to a world unknown. Playing the Siddha Veena can be one of the simplest ways to meditate and keep negative emotions like anger, depression, and anxiety at bay.
