This course will enable students in detail the various permutation and combinations of using lines, dots or shapes to create different effects in a drawing, for e.g the gap between multiple lines drawn parallelly provides for a light or dense effect. Lines apart will bring out a lighter effect whereas lines drawn closely will be visually dense. The same applies in relation to the thickness of the line. The course will dwell on some of the known line techniques that help to change the visual aesthetics of a drawing. Line techniques such as small dashes used to fill empty spaces, hatching concerning long parallel lines on an angle, cross hatching technique of drawing long parallel lines at right angles, stippling relating to the use of dots, scribbling, small crosses and small circles will be part of this course.
