Kuchipudi is a pre-eminent Indian classical dance form. It is a dance-drama performance art that originated in Kuchelapuram village of Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, India. Similar to all other Indian classical dance forms, Kuchipudi takes its dance techniques and stagecraft from the ancient Hindu text - ‘Natya Shastra’. It was practiced as a part of the temple rituals and also by traveling bards. We find its mentions in the relics of the 10th-century copper inscriptions and in the 15th century
Level -2 of the fundamentals of Kuchipudi will primarily focus on the basic adavus. These moves prepare a person’s body and mind to learn new techniques.
After learning the fundamental chaturasra, jaathi adavus, going in brief with the jaathi bhedhas of adavus and other jathis will make the learner's body ready to perform the basic dance pieces.
