Q: What if a student is unable to attend an upcoming class?

The student must inform the teacher about his absence from a particular session two days before the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. If the student misses giving two days prior notice about his absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is wholly based on the teacher’s discretion.

Q: What if the teacher wishes to reschedule a class?

Q: How long will the teacher take to revert to a query raised after class hours?

The teacher will try to revert to queries raised after class hours within 24 hours.

About the Course

The classes will help students work on their flexibility, strength, and explore some interesting techniques of the contemporary dance form. Every session with Umesh Bisht will be divided into two segments. The first 15 minutes will be dedicated to warm up targeting flexibility and strength. The next 45 minutes will target choreography, rhythm, and improvisational techniques. It will cover the following:

Continuation to strength building and flexibility exercises
Introduction to the Flying Low technique
Introduction to flooring
Introduction to the Limon technique
Deeper understanding of rhythm for coordination of mind and body

About the Teacher: A certified Yoga instructor and choreographer, Umesh Bisht has an impressive teaching experience of 8 years. Umesh has done his post-graduation in the field of Yoga.

Besides teaching Yoga and choreographing for different school-level dance competitions, Umesh has represented India in the following countries Fiji, Croatia, Turkey, and Bangladesh.

Umesh assisted choreographers in workshops held in Fiji and Croatia under the banner of ICCR and the Ministry of Culture in 2017-18. ‌Choreographed musical plays “Simar’ and “O2- A devised performance “ by the theater group of AICURD “Articoll” in 2019.

Umesh has performed at the Republic day celebration (India Gate) 2021 as an artist in the team Uttar Pradesh that won first prize in all over India. He also performed at DD National‘s 57th and 60th Anniversary. Umesh has dedicated himself to teaching learners the beautiful art of Yoga and contemporary dance.
