This 12-week beginner course on ipassio is for those who wish to pick up the musical instrument - Piano Accordion - the instrument with a keyboard on one side and buttons on the other. This course will be taught to you OnliVe (online + live), on a 1-on-1 basis. Your instructor for this course, famous piano accordion player Shirley Johnson will be incorporating proper techniques like different hand positions that you will be learning so that you can play for the rest of your life without injuring your hands and these accordion-playing methods will also help you in performing basic piano accordion numbers as well.

This online piano accordion course for beginners, taught by acclaimed piano accordion player Shirley Johnson, will introduce the enrolled aspiring learners to the musical instrument, its meaning, and the precise movements involved in its playing techniques. Students begin by learning how to properly place their hand on the Keyboard side of the accordion, how to properly place your hand on the left side of the accordion, they will begin playing polka and a waltz rhythm on the left side, by playing easy songs, they will learn how to coordinate the right-hand side (keyboard) with the left side (buttons), which is playing in a waltz or a polka rhythm. Oh, and all of this while pushing and pulling the bellows in and out at the same time! If the beginner does not know how to read music, both Treble, and Bass Clef, Shirley make sure that you learn that will learn. At the successful completion of this course, students will be able to perform a whole basic song on their own as they will be taught the notes by the instructor in the last few weeks. This course is up to 12 weeks and can be extended longer but ultimately, the course length depends on the particular progress and comfort of the student. Additionally, a thorough study of music in this course builds strength, confidence, and depth of expression that can enhance many areas of life. This course requires regular physical practice and weekly face-to-face sessions with the teacher.
About the teacher: The instructor for your course is Shirley Johnson. As a believer that good technique is important, Shirley starts with teaching her students the proper way to play the accordion so they can enjoy playing for many years.
