‘Online Jewellery Design Course for Beginners | Learn on Procreate’ - is an OnliVe (online + live), 3-week course by Rashmi Garg, where students will exclusively learn how to design beautiful gemstones by using different techniques via the Procreate application. Beginners will also learn how to add shadow to their designs to make them three-dimensional, quick sketching by using the symmetrical command and illustrating using vector images. By the end of this course, they will be able to create realistic-looking digital jewellery illustrations and will find it easier to design and will find it more natural than drawing on paper.

This course will take you through learning the steps in the software application Procreate to transform your jewellery sketches. The instructor for this course, Rashmi Garg, will break down all the most important tools in the application, in the easiest way. Beginners will start the course with an interface describing tools and techniques for an efficient workflow without confusion. After learning the basics, students will have to create a project using those same tools to increase their designing confidence.
Through this class, students will receive access to some custom-made procreate brushes and will also learn how to make and share a cool time-lapse video of their own art. The course will include: (a) An introduction to the Procreate software used for Digital Jewellery designing, (b) User Interface, mastering the tools and the various commands of the Procreate software, (c ) Creating an array of the basic shapes and the different motifs following the principle of light and shadow, (d) Construction and Rendering of the digitally designed gemstones, pearls, and diamonds, (e) Illustrations of the different types of metals and surface textures, (f) Illustration of linking and findings such as various kinds of chains, (g) Designing your own brushes for effective designing and rendering. (h) Illustration of Jewellery settings, (i) Complete rendering of products such as pendants and earrings, and lastly, the completion of a digital portfolio with a project made by the beginner himself/herself.

About the Teacher:The instructor for the course is Rashmi Garg, a talented professional who has years of experience in using the software Procreate and teaching digital jewellery design to students from all walks of life for the past 3 years. Rashmi’s course on ipassio covers all the hidden tools and gestures beginners need to make creating digital illustrations easy and fun. Rashmi is an Indian artist and is currently based in Mumbai city. Always having a knack for creativity, she loved gems even as a young child. This led to her academics being focused on jewellery design with continued studies in the subject. Since she loves teaching and wishes to see others grow, she teamed up with ipassio to impart the knowledge she has grasped over the years. Being an expert in designing, but the ability to transfer knowledge and skills to another person is what makes an excellent instructor after working as a faculty in the design department, she has experience in all. Her teaching style can best be described as interactive, supportive, and transparent. Rashmi also encourages her students to have a voice in the classroom, ask questions when they come up, and participate actively in all conversations regardless of their level of confidence. Her strengths are the ability to solve conflicts, emotional intelligence, creativity and enthusiasm for teaching, ability to explain difficult things in a simple way, ability to connect with children (or with older students), on a personal level. Prerequisites for the applicability of this particular course include: Apple products that are compatible with the Procreate software application and those are the following: iPad Pro 12.9 ”(1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generations), iPad Pro 11 ”(1st and 2nd generations), iPad Pro 12.5 ”, iPad Pro 10.5 ”, iPad Pro 9.7 ”, iPad (8th, 7th, 6th and 5th generation), iPad mini (5th generation), iPad mini 4, iPad Air (4th and 3rd generation) and iPad Air 2. The Apple Pencil for sketching can be from the 1st or 2nd generation. Students will have to download the Procreate 5 or 5X version and will have to make sure that the iOS software of the device is 13.2 or higher.
