Here is an opportunity to learn the basics of Hindustani classical vocal music designed for intermediate-level students. It is a foundational course that focuses on the basic techniques of voice training and learning about pitch and rhythm. Students will learn exercises that will help to develop the texture of their voices. They will learn about significant components of Indian classical music such as ‘swar’ and ‘saptak’ - both conceptually and practically. Most importantly, the students get an opportunity to avail individual learning sessions with the renowned and award-winning vocalist, Palash Chandra Biswas. At the end of this course, the students will develop a deep understanding of musical concepts. They will be able to render Ragas efficiently and confidently.

Before beginning the course, the teacher will evaluate the student’s proficiency level and prior knowledge of music. Accordingly, he will modify his teaching methodology. Since this course will be conducted through individual classes, the student has the opportunity to discuss his/her learning objectives as well as concerns if any.
Coming to the curriculum, the primary focus will be on ‘swar’ and ‘lay’. Also, a lot of emphasis is given to the voice texture of the student with the objective to help the student develop a unique voice quality.

About the Teacher -
Palash Chandra Biswas has acquired Sangeet Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. He has earned Master's Degrees in Performing Arts from Raja Maan Singh University and in Hindustani Classical Music (Vocal) from Banaras Hindu University.
He was conferred with the title of 'Young Artist' in the field of Ghazal by the Ministry of Culture in 2019. He is a Graded Artist for Bhajan in All India Radio, among several other recognitions and accolades at different cultural platforms.
He has been offering vocal and instrumental training classes for Hindustani classical music through online and offline classes.
