About the Teacher

Born into a family of music enthusiasts, Onkar Deshmukh has been immersed in music since the age of 3. His musical journey began to flourish when, at the tender age of 9, he showcased his talent by singing a Marathi duet for All India Radio.

Onkar's passion for music led him to receive advanced training in light music singing from esteemed mentors such as Dr. Saleel Kulkarni, Pandit Ramesh Kanole, and Pandita Sita in Indian classical music. He holds the prestigious title of 'Sangeet Visharad' with a special qualification from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai. He is a Graded Radio Artist for Light Music by Prasar Bharti Aakashvani Pune. 

Throughout India, Onkar has triumphed in numerous music competitions and captivated audiences as a lead singer in various music shows across major cities. He has had the privilege of performing in the presence of notable personalities including the eminent historian Padma Vibhushan Shri. Babasaheb Purandare, lyricist Shri. Pravin Devane, singer Shri Shridhar Fadke, and internationally acclaimed Jaltarang player Pandit Shri Milind Tulankar.

His talent has also taken him to the United Kingdom, where he has mesmerized audiences at esteemed venues such as Maharashtra Mandal, London, and Mauritian Marathi Society, London, along with numerous other locations throughout the country.
