Learn to Sing like a Professional Hindustani Classical Singer

This professional course is an extension of the course Training in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music - Level Up. It will cover the following concepts:

• Ability to sing complex taans in different laya and in sargam as well as akaar
• Learn the proper way of gradual development or badhat in a raga
• Introduction to bol-baats and bol-taans
• Learn to sing the mukhda with tihais will be taught
• Bada khayal in different taals such as jhumra, rupak, etc will be taught
• Semi-classical forms such as thumris and bhajans will be taught.
• Voice culture required for semi-classical forms will be taught
• Punjab ang as well as purab ang thumris will be covered
• Taals used in semi-classical forms such as Jat, Deepchandi, Punjabi, etc will be covered.

About the Teacher

Arul Seth is a Hindustani classical vocalist belonging to the Kirana Gharana. He started his musical journey at the age of 9 under the tutelage of Smt. Mousumi Dasgupta in Siliguri, West Bengal. After shifting to Ghaziabad he came under the able guidance of Late Smt. Kamal Hanspal (Top Grade AIR Artist) and Dr. Vinod Gandharv played a vital role in his progress. Currently, he is also getting the best technical guidance from Pt. Harish Tiwari(disciple of Bharat Ratna Bhimsen Joshi) of Kirana Gharana. As part of his formal music education, he has completed his MA in Hindustani music from the University of Delhi and won the Gold Medal on its completion. His gayaki reflects and has influences from the Kirana Gharana because of his training and exposure to the system. Apart from Khayals, he also excels in semi-classical forms such as Thumris, Bhajans, and Ghazals.

He is an empaneled artist of All Indian Radio and also has been awarded the CCRT scholarship for Young Artists by the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India. He recently got a scholarship from the National Council of Performing Arts, Mumbai. He was also awarded the first prize in the Indian Film Project festival for his song "KATI PATANG". He has performed in various cities all over the country such as Delhi, Mumbai, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Guwahati, Silchar, Siliguri, Kolkata, and Lucknow to name a few.
