Students with the basic knowledge of playing a harmonium can upgrade their skills by enrolling in this course. It is expected that the students know how the harmonium works. They are well accustomed to the keys. They are comfortable with the scale in which they play. After this point, they will learn to play different compositions and songs on the harmonium.
In this course, the students will be taught one Raag extensively. They will learn to play the Raag from the fundamental melodic phrase to the full-fledged drut and vilambit khyal. They will learn the bandishes in different rhythmic patterns or Taal. They will also learn to play a few songs based on that Raag.

About the Teacher
Santosh Ghante is a promising Internationally renowned solo Harmonium performer and music composer. He is a disciple of renowned harmonium maestro late Pt. Appasaheb Jalgaonkar. Santosh was a recipient of a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, GOI in 2001. Santosh has done a lot of work in the field of Indian music. He has been very innovative with his musical instrument-the Harmonium and has collaborated with international artists. Santosh has performed in several music conferences/solo concerts all around the world in more than 34 countries.
He has won several awards and accolades in India and abroad. He has been honored with the International Harmonium Player Award from the Cultural Department of Durban in South Africa and in Mauritius at the hands of Prime Minister Mr.Navin Ramgoolam, to name some of his achievements.
