South Indian Percussion for All Levels

The content of this course will be determined by the level of expertise the student has already achieved. Course materials and lesson plans encompass many areas of study, including fingering techniques and the respective Solfa or Phonetic language (Morsing or Konnakol). With over three and a half decades of teaching experience, Vaidyanathan is prepared to meet each student's individual musical goals on their percussive instrument and is open to students bringing more than one instrument to lessons, so they may strengthen their skill level in each one. Student skill level will be reviewed periodically throughout the duration of the course to ensure educational milestones are being met at a satisfactory level.

ABOUT THE TEACHER: Suresh Vaidyanathan has been a percussion master and educator for over three decades. With students from all over the world, Vaidyanathan’s extensive experience ensures his ability to reach students of all backgrounds and educational levels. Suresh regularly organizes musical festivals in India and ensures his most talented students receive the opportunity to perform at these annual functions. With many of his own students now masters themselves, Vaidyanathan has the pleasure of watching his former students teaching this art form to students of their own, ensuring the continuation of this tradition. As one of the first online musical instructors, he is knowledgeable of the online educational platform and has created his course material to be best served by this medium.
