Here is an opportunity for beginners in Carnatic music to learn the basics from an experienced teacher and seasoned performer. This course is designed to give conceptual and practical knowledge about - Swaras, Tunes, Pitch, and Musical rhythm.
- Every class begins with a small sloka and ends with tuning the student’s voice with shruthi (Pitch).
- Theory classes will be conducted along with classical music, whenever it is necessary to have the proper knowledge of the music

About the Course
The course curriculum is divided into two levels -
Level 1:
The students will learn Carnatic classical music basics:
- Sarali Varisai ( 3 speeds with practice session)
- Janta Varisai 3 speeds with a practice session
- Mel sthayi (high octave singing)
- Dhattu Varisai
- Sapta thaala alankaram with akara sadhagam
The students will learn the above music basics while learning to render:
- Sanskrit shlokas
- Meera, Tulsidas, and other bhajans
- Keerthanams composed by Purandara Dasa, Annamacharya, and other great Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi composers
- Other devotional songs in other Indian languages
Level - 2 Junior Level
Level two of the beginner’s level course includes -
- Geetham - Minimum 4-5 Geetham based on different ragas
- Swarajithi - Minimum 2-4 swarajathis
- At this level, students learn and understand different ragas of Carnatic classical music through the recitals of Geetham and Swarajithi
