Q: How long should I practice on a daily basis?

At the beginner’s level, it is important that you get into the habit of practicing music every day. At this stage sitting for 20 to 30 minutes is sufficient.

Q: What if I can’t attend a scheduled class?

If you can’t attend a scheduled, you have to inform the teacher in advance. In that case, your teacher will take the class on or before ending of the ensuing week (Saturday) or a time that is mutually decided between you and the teacher. But if you forget to inform your teacher about your absence, then the decision to take an alternative class will be completely on the discretion of your teacher.

Q: How long will a teacher take to revert to my queries after class hours?

You should get a response within 24 hours if the teacher is not preoccupied or traveling.

Q: What if the teacher wishes to reschedule a class?

If the teacher is unavailable for the scheduled class, he/she will inform you two days before the class. The teacher will conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student.

Sarali Varisai: Exercises to learn the notes in the octave, going up and down at different speeds. This helps in getting familiar with the basic notes.
Janta Varisai: Exercises to learn the notes in pairs. It helps in developing strength and clarity in singing each note.
Dhāttu Varisai: Exercises to learn notes in a zig-zag way for control. This helps in mastering note combinations and transitions.
Melthayi Varisai: Exercises to learn to sing in the higher octaves. It helps in expanding vocal range and control.
Introduction to Geethams: Short songs with lyrics and note patterns. These simple compositions help in understanding basic song structures.
