• Thana Varnams - Adi Thalam and Ata Thala Varnams help to learn the raga Lakshana better and also gain inputs for Manodharma Sangeetham
• Pada & Daru Varnams - Give insight into Neraval singing
• Dvikaalam, Thrikaalam & Thishram rendition of the Varnams - Help in knowing the paddhathi of RTP singing ( Pallavi Singing )
• Madhyama Kala Krithis - Help to know how the different composers have dealt with the ragas.
• Other aspects like Virutthams, Padams, Javalis, and thillanas: Help to learn about the various compositional forms.
• Basics of Manodharma - preparation for Sabha Gaanam.
• Theory based on the requirement.

About the Teacher

Smt. Annapoorna Karthik has over 20 years of experience in teaching music. She has trained under the tutelage of Sri. T.G. Badrinarayananin her initial years. Thereafter, she trained under the tutelage of Vid. S. Sowmya at the advanced level. She completed her Master's in Music at Madras University, Tamil Nadu. At present, she is training under the guidance of Prof. Mysore Nagamani Srinath.    

Annapoorna has performed at several music concerts in India and abroad on esteemed platforms. They are - the Indian High Commission, London, UK, London International Arts Festival, UK, and Sri Rama Mandira Malleshwaram, Bangalore - to name a few. 

Annapoorna’s dedication to music and her soulful renditions have been rewarded with accolades. Some of her noteworthy awards include Best Performance by VDS Arts Academy Award consecutively for 2006 and 2007, Outstanding Performance by Ayyappa Seva Samaj Nairobi in 2010, and  K. B.Sundarambal Endowment Award by MGR Janaki College - to name a few. 

Currently, she teaches music online to students from diverse age groups and geographical locations. The students who have trained under her are taking her legacy ahead by making their mark on several concerts and have won several awards.
