Learn the Nuances of Carnatic Vocals and Simple Carnatic Songs

The classes will focus on the theoretical and practical aspects of the fundamentals of music; melody, rhythm, lyrics, and musical forms. The classes will also cover different sets of exercises and simple songs. Throughout the duration of this course, Ananya will conduct assessments to ensure each student is improving their skill and growing their repertoire in a timely manner. 

• Introduction to Shruti, Tala, and basic exercises to tune their vocal cords. This will help the student to gain a greater understanding of melody and rhythm.
• Practising singing with a Tanpura for holistic development and tuning of the voice
• Introduction to breathing exercises, and techniques for enhancing vocal skills, which help the students to add soul and emotions while singing.
• Introduction to the fundamental building blocks of Carnatic vocal music.
• Understanding the concepts of Swarams and Tala and how the combination of both these elements helps the student to get the Swara Sthanas or pitching and rhythm sense
• Simple songs

About the Teacher: Ananya Bhagath is a highly trained and accomplished playback singer, Carnatic vocalist, performer, music researcher, and vocal coach. Her achievements speak of her passion and love for music. 

She has been awarded the ‘Best Playback Singer’ for her song ‘Sapurakati’ from the movie ‘Neerdose’. She has completed her Graduation, Post Graduation, and M.Phill in Music from Jain University. Currently, she has earned her Doctorate in Music from Jain University.
