About the Course
Students will be introduced to the following:
- Basics of Indian classical music for a sound understanding of light music
- Understanding song structure and its notation wherever needed
- Practise Riyaaz on Tanpura
- Understanding of Vocal expressions, Voice modulation, Application of low and high pitch notes, Building of voice range
- Karaoke training from Taal and Lay/Tempo point of view,
- Classical/Non-classical Hindi film songs, Marathi film and non-film songs,
- Basic knowledge of Raga for raga-based songs
- Latest Bollywood songs
- Devotional songs like Hindi and Marathi Bhakti sangeet
About the Teacher
Born in a family of music lovers he has been learning music and performing since 3 years of age. At the age of 9, he sang a Marathi duet for All India Radio.
Onkar received advanced training in light music from Dr Saleel Kulkarni, Pandit Ramesh Kanole, and Pandita. Sita for Indian classical Music. Onkar is a ‘Sangeet Visharad’ with a special qualification from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai. He is a Graded Radio Artist for Light Music by Prasar Bharti Aakashvani Pune.
He has won several music competitions and performed as a lead singer in various music shows in major cities in India. He has also performed in front of renowned people like eminent historian Padma Vibhushan Shri. Babasaheb Purandare, Lyricist Shri. Pravin Devane, Singer Shri Shridhar Fadke, International Jaltarang player Pandit. Shri Milind Tulankar.
In the United Kingdom, he has performed at prestigious venues like Maharashtra Mandal, London and Mauritian Marathi Society, London and also several other venues in the U.K
