Mandolin Lessons for Beginners is a 48-week course that takes place once per week during the duration of the course, for a total of 48 lessons. This course covers all the foundational training needed for mandolin players to move their musical career onto the next step, an intermediate class. Providing lessons for either Mandolin or Guitar, (To learn more about the Guitar Lessons, click here), master musician Snehasish Mozumder can also help new musicians explore these instruments and choose which one is right for them.

This course will cover basic music theory concepts such as rhythm, scales, and octaves. Mozumder will also teach all students finger techniques for their instrument, including providing guidance in practicing with their right hand controlling their instrument and their left hand offering fingerings to employ the tune. This course will provide practical guidance in the learning process of playing chords on either the mandolin or guitar as well. As a beginner’s course, students will not need to complete a prerequisite course before enrolling.
ABOUT THE TEACHER: Born into a musical family, Snehasish Mozumder began receiving his musical training from his immediate family at the young age of four. Since this time, Mozumder has received the training of many talented gurus during the duration of his musical career. Today, Snehasish performs in many major festivals in India and abroad, including Sankat Mochan Utsav of Varanasi, Swami Haridas Sangeet Sanmelan of Mumbai, Indian Habitat Centre of Delhi, and many others. He has recorded and performed Indian Classical music throughout India, Europe, and North America, including sharing the stage with Eric Clapton while in Pt Ravi Shankar's orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall concert for George Harrison in 2002. Additionally, Snehasish is the recipient of Surmani and Jadubhatta Awards. Eager to ensure this musical tradition is passed onto the next generation, Mozumder serves as an educator in addition to teaching students from all over the world. His teaching style is fluid, leaving him ample room to acclimate each lesson plan to his student on an individual level, ensuring each of his students receive the individualized attention necessary to become a master of their art.

Students enrolling in Mandolin Lessons for Beginners will need to have regular access to the instrument of their choice for lessons and practice. Students will also need paper and pen for note taking, time to commit to lessons, as well as independent practice, and, most importantly, a desire to learn. Upon successful completion of this course, all students will be ready to advance to the intermediate stage of learning. Students will also be ready to perform simple songs on their instrument.
